Big Yellow Self Storage is Britain’s favourite self storage company. Big Yellow provides secure and modern storage for homes and businesses. We currently have over 50,000 customers storing with us. Founded in 1998 with our very first store in Richmond upon Thames, we now operate from 96 stores across the UK, employing over 450 people and we are listed on the FTSE 250 London Stock Exchange. Our portfolio also includes 20 stores branded as Armadillo Self Storage, in which the Group has a 20% interest. People use Big Yellow when they need to find some extra space - often at key events in their lives. This may include house selling and moving home, carrying out home improvements, getting married or separating, starting a family, downsizing, dealing with inheritance or simply using us as a spare room when they run out of space at home. We are also home to many of Britain’s businesses who use us to store stock or as a distribution hub. This includes many innovative business start-ups who benefit from our helpful store teams, the flexibility of our storage and our extra business services. The Big Yellow brand is based on our people and excellent customer service is at the heart of our business and staff training. Our store teams are highly trained to offer helpful advice to people needing storage, many of which might not have used the service before. Our stores our purpose built, modern and located in safe and easily accessible locations. The security of customers’ possessions is our number one priority and we are the only major UK storage operator where every room is individually alarmed with unique PIN code access. At Big Yellow, we know the most important space of all is the environment that surrounds us and that is why we work hard to create an environmentally sustainable business. Generating our own electricity with rooftop solar panels and reducing our carbon footprint further through initiatives like LED store lighting are just two of examples of how we invest in sustainability. We also recognise the importance of supporting local community projects and charities through fundraising and donating free storage space. Our recently launched Big Yellow Foundation supports charities helping vulnerable people to find employment, including people with disabilities, ex-offenders, refugees and ex-service personnel.
