DESCRIPTION

We provide services including schools, social services, libraries, parks and leisure centres, refuse collection, recycling, street sweeping, planning, and housing to our residents and local businesses. Hackney Council has a directly elected Mayor who selects some of the Councillors to be part of his Cabinet. Together, they decide what policies should be put before full council for a vote. Mayor and Councillors are elected every four years.
