As one of the UK’s newest universities the University of Cumbria also has a long and prestigious history of delivering first-class higher education in and around Cumbria. Formed in 2007, the University of Cumbria was created from three institutions: Cumbria Institute of the Arts, St Martin’s College and UCLan’s Cumbria sites including its campus at Newton Rigg. At the University of Cumbria we are committed to providing a first class education and an outstanding student experience in a flexible and supportive learning environment. We are proud of our extensive portfolio of high quality courses in education, health and wellbeing, arts, business and science. As well as academic excellence we offer a cost-effective option for further study with our range of bursaries and scholarships, as well as a low cost of living in and around our campuses and sites. We have four campuses (which are bases we own) and four sites (which are bases where we are hosted by one of our partners). Our campuses are at Carlisle Fusehill Street, Carlisle Brampton Road, Lancaster and Ambleside and our sites are at Energus Workington, Newton Rigg College Penrith, Tower Hamlets London and Furness College Barrow-in-Furness. Students tell us that they love our small friendly campuses and sites. We offer excellent quality courses which we carefully design to make sure that they are focused on employability as well as extra added value such as placements to enrich the learning experience. Our small class sizes mean that students get the access to support that they require and can build strong relationships with tutors allowing them to get the most out of their time at university.
