Here’s a video explaining how to get email addresses from LinkedIn (for free). 🎬
1. Go to your prospect’s LinkedIn profile
The first step to getting email addresses from LinkedIn is to go to your prospect’s profile. Use the search bar (and the range of filters) on the top of the LinkedIn homepage.
Make sure you’re targeting your ideal customer profile (ICP) and look for people who fit the buyer persona.
2. Access their email address
Use the ✨ free Kaspr LinkedIn Chrome Extension ✨ as your email extractor tool.
The Kaspr widget will pop up on your prospect’s profile.
Click the widget, and the contact information you need will appear for one credit. Not only will you get email addresses, but phone numbers, too.
Who wants to waste time trying to guess email formats anyway? With Kaspr, you can get *unlimited access to B2B email addresses. This is available on both the paid plans and the free version.
*Subject to fair use policy.
3. Enrich the contact data
Take these email lists further by enriching them in the Kaspr dashboard (or in bulk while using the widget). You could add cell phone numbers for cold calling, for example.
Save and manage your prospect's contact details by clicking Add to Leads on the widget, so you can access this info whenever you need it. You can create lists within the dashboard to manage leads and bulk email exports of only the prospects you want to contact.
The Kaspr dashboard takes this contact information to the next level by using automation that helps you generate more leads on LinkedIn.
Thanks to the sales automation tab in the dashboard, you can enrich the data in two ways:
✅ Contact level: with professional email addresses and phone numbers.
✅ Company level: with business email addresses and phone numbers.
Plus, the data is all GDPR and CCPA aligned.
More ways to get email addresses from LinkedIn
The Kaspr widget makes finding email addresses from LinkedIn simple. But here’s an overview of all the other ways you can go about it, with pros and cons.
Sales teams looking for a less easy and accurate way (honesty is the best policy 🤷) can do so using a manual method or bulk email finders. We’ll talk about this later on.
Here are all the ways to get email addresses from LinkedIn. 👇
Chrome Extensions
The easiest way to get email addresses from contacts on LinkedIn is to use a Chrome Extension (like Kaspr!), as we’ve already mentioned. Sales extensions like this make it easy to get instant access to data.
The best thing is that many of the Extensions are completely free. Here’s what you get each month for free with Kaspr:
- *Unlimited B2B email addresses when you invite three colleagues to sign up.
- 5 direct email credits.
- 5 phone credits.
- 10 export credits.
*Subject to fair use policy.
Here’s a review of some of the Chrome Extensions available. 👇

Find the email address manually on LinkedIn
Finding email addresses from LinkedIn manually means requires a bit of heavy lifting.
All you need is your LinkedIn account, and from there, head over to the prospect profile. Click “contact info” under their name and cross your fingers, hoping your prospect hasn’t hidden their email address. If it’s listed, hopefully, it’s up to date!
This method is free, but it does come with its own challenges. For starters, it’s time-consuming since you have to navigate to each profile individually. If you were trying to do this for hundreds of prospects, this would take a lot of time.
Even if the contact information is listed, there’s no guarantee it will be correct. So, you could spend all this time and energy only to find an email address that is no longer used. You could write a perfect cold email, only for it never to get read.
Finally, this method makes it difficult to stay organized. Even if you’re using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, it doesn’t keep things as organized as a contact data dashboard (like Kaspr). You’ll also have to manually add these details into your CRM, making it even more time-consuming. ⌛
Ask the prospect for it
What’s prospecting without a bit of leg work, hey? You could just cut straight to the chase and ask.
This is probably a good way to go if the prospect has already accepted your connection request and seems interested in your outreach message. Not a road you want to go down if you’re going in completely cold.
If interest is already there, say something like:
“Hi {name}, could I get your email address? I’ve got a personalized virtual demo I’d like to send you to continue our conversation about your {pain point}.”
With a message that gives some value, you could be in luck. But this method could still fail, better to go in already having got the email address, surely? 🤷
Bulk email finder tools
There’s also the option of using a bulk email finder tool, which means exporting a CSV file from LinkedIn Sales Navigator and enriching the data in a bulk email finder.
Some examples of these are:
Once your sales reps create a spreadsheet with your prospect’s first and last name and the domain name, these tools allow you to upload the file to find multiple email addresses.
Using a bulk email finder over the manual method is much faster, making finding email addresses at scale easier. But because this contact gets downloaded into a spreadsheet, there’s still manual work to get everything organized and then uploaded into a CRM.
And it can also be costly since many of these tools aren’t free. Or they’re free for a limited amount of emails or with a limited database of only personal email addresses instead of professional ones. Once you’ve reached your limit, you’ll have to pay for more.
At the end of the day, several time-consuming steps go into bulk email fingers, slowing down your sales reps and making it more challenging to hit quotas.
A combination of LinkedIn and Google
Start on LinkedIn to find your target accounts. For this method, you need to know the company domain and the names of the people you’d like to contact.
Use LinkedIn’s filters to refine your search to find ideal personas and get a list of prospects.
You can use:
- Connections of.
- Followers of.
- Location.
- Subjects they talk about.
- Current company.
- Past company.
- School.
- Industry.
- Open to.
- Service categories.
- Keywords (first name, last name, job title, company, school).
Once you’ve got your person and the company domain, do a quick Google search. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to stumble across a directory (like Kasprs 😉). With the Chrome Extension steps we mentioned earlier, you can sign up for Kaspr for free and get instant access to the data you need.
But if not, you could strike luck with a Google site search using the company’s domain logic. This approach isn’t foolproof, as not many companies have their employee’s email addresses on their websites anymore. But, worth a try if you’re running out of options.
Find the email pattern
Another method you could try is learning the common email patterns. Contact directories like Kaspr offer an email patterns section to help you work it out with an accuracy score.
You could always run the email through an email verification tool to confirm.
Extract email addresses from 1st degree connections
You could also use LinkedIn’s export connections features to get email addresses. Something to note about this method is that it’s not instant. You’ll need to wait for the spreadsheet to be processed by LinkedIn.
You’ll only be able to get the email addresses of your 1st degree connections. So it’s no use if you’re not connected with the person already.
But anyway… here’s how you do it:
- Click “Me” in the top right corner of your desktop on LinkedIn.
- Click where it says “Settings & Privacy”.
- You’ll be taken to a new page; click “Data privacy” on the far left.
- In the ‘how LinkedIn uses your data’ section, click on “Get a copy of your data”
- You’ll need to tickbox the section option to get something specific.
- Select “Connections” in the tickbox and then click “Request archive”.
- After you enter your password, you’ll be emailed a download link for the data.
The other downside to getting email addresses this way is that people choose what data they share on LinkedIn. So you might find that there are a lot of email addresses missing.
Use their full name to guess
This method isn’t recommended. Especially without using an email verification tool. But if all else fails, you might be able to guess if you have the contact’s full name and the business domain. 🕵️
Rather than use this way because it is likely inaccurate, you may use the Google method or find the email pattern. As we’ve already mentioned, directories like Kaspr’s already show the email pattern, making it easy to guess from there.
👉 But you might as well just sign up for Kaspr to get unlimited B2B email addresses - It’s free.

Email outreach tips: How to approach prospects professionally.
Once you’ve got your prospect’s valid email address, it’s time to write a highly personalized email. You’ve got to make yourself stand out.
Before you click send, it’s important to master the approach of your cold emails. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Grab their attention. Don’t forget a subject line that stands out in their crowded inbox but stays within 19 characters.
- Keep it short and sweet. The email should include a short and precise message. Use 150 words with simple language that gets to the point quickly.
- Get personal. Personalization is key - but you don’t have to write a customized email for hundreds of prospects. There’s a sweet spot here, and leaving a unique message impression is still possible.
- It’s not all about you. A winning cold email should be about your contacts, not yourself. Highlight what they can gain or achieve by learning more about your offering.
- Name drop. If you know a prospect is using a product by the competition, they might be interested in knowing how yours is different. So, highlight your product’s main selling points in a way that highlights why yours is better.
- Use some data. Got a fun fact about your product or service to share? Start your email with that, then back it up with facts, benefits, statistics, or quotes from real customers.
- Show your face. While a well-worded email is great, think about elevating your outreach. Consider adding a video to the body of your email. That way, your prospect can put a face to a name and see you've taken time to personalize your approach.
- Don’t forget the call to action. Your aim is to book a meeting. So don’t forget to make your intentions clear.
